Nature-Based Circular Solutions for a Resilient Blue Economy

Our Collaborators

Our Technologies

Modular by design. Seamless by nature. We provide integrated solutions that reduce nutrients, restore water quality, and transform waste into value.Whether you're addressing a single challenge or building a comprehensive water and waste strategy, BlueCycle gives communities the flexibility to start where the need is greatest and scale as goals evolve.

Algae Cultivation

Animation showing upstream dissolved nutrient capture technology removing bioavailable nitrogen and phosphorus from waterways before they reach lakes, canals, and estuaries.
HAB-PREVENT™ provides upstream nutrient interception and capture by an advanced algae cultivation technology.

We remove dissolved nitrogen and phosphorus at the source, cultivating beneficial algae to intercept nutrients before they trigger harmful algal blooms.

Algae Harvesting

Aerial view of an HFT™ algae harvesting system positioned at the edge of a heavily algae-bloomed green waterway, with processing tanks and piping visible alongside a gravel access path and surrounding grassland.
Algae Harvesting - HFT™ (Hydronucleation Flotation Technology) rapidly removes algae, nutrients, organic carbon, and cyanotoxins from impacted waterways, delivering measurable improvement.

Waste-to-Energy

Interior view of an HTL-360™ hydrothermal liquefaction facility showing four conical glass separatory funnels containing dark amber biocrude oil, surrounded by high-pressure industrial piping, pumps, and control equipment.

HTL-360™ uses Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) to turn waste into renewable energy.

Converts algae, biosolids, and organic waste into renewable biocrude oil and recoverable nutrients using heat, pressure, and water to complete the circular economy loop.

The Challenges We Face

Water quality and waste management challenges are no longer isolated problems, they are systemic failures decades in the making.

Communities are facing

Nutrient Overload

Excess nitrogen and phosphorus accumulate in waterways, triggering HABs that conventional methods alone cannot resolve.

Harmful Algal Blooms

Algal blooms are not longer rare events, they’re a frequently growing reality that affects public health, local economies, and the ecosystems communities rely on.

Biosolids Handling

Communities are running out of conventional options for biosolids and organic waste. The path forward requires a fundamentally different approach.

Restoring Nature’s Balance

BlueCycle Technologies was founded on a simple belief:
Nature already has the answers.
We unite leading researchers, proven technologies, and forward-thinking communities to put those answers to work on impacted waterways, transforming environmental liabilities into long-term legacy.
